A carved solid cottonwood vessel by contemporary American artist Daniel Pollock. The artist has carved the vessel into a hollowed-out bowl shape and he has accentuated the exterior by naturalistically chip carving the sides. The interior of the vessel has been stained an ivory color and the exterior is in black. it has a final clear coat for protection. The artist signed and dated this piece on the underside.

For more than 31 years, artisan Daniel Pollock (b. 1954) has lived and worked at the foothills of the San Bernardino National Forest, where he is inspired as a woodsman turned functional artist, creating Organic Modern furnishings. Each of his creations is "one of a kind".
