A carved solid cottonwood coffee table by contemporary American artist Daniel Pollock. The artist has chosen a to carved the table into a teardrop shape, which accentuates the natural graining in the wood and allows for a carved circular "dug out". The wood is then placed in an oven at 400 degrees, stained with an ivory colored pigment and finished with a clear coat for protection. The artist signed and dated this piece on the underside.

For more than 31 years, artisan Daniel Pollock (b. 1954) has lived and worked at the foothills of the San Bernardino National Forest, where he is inspired as a woodsman turned functional artist, creating organic modern furnishings. Each of his creations is "one of a kind".
