This 1950's hand-made cube table is covered with hundreds of individual squares of .25" mahogany that are arranged in a tessellated pattern on all sides. The bottom side is open. The pieces of mahogany are randomly applied to a particle board substrate in varying directions to create a checkerboard that captures and refracts light. A love of the woodworkers craft is reflected in all of the work that was involved in the fabrication of this table.
