"Stand Firm", A dynamic eight foot tall carefully composed welded steel sculpture finished in a tectonic powder coated red. Dated 2016. The complex interplay between Joey's seemingly simplistic bar elementsreveals a lyrical arrangement that echoes the human form. The splayed feet anchored to terra firma. The active mid-section reaching out in all directions. The top or head reaching skyward. Every angle is considered and thought through to completion. Mr. Vaiasuso is a master of form and composition and he accomplishes this with the exceedingly difficult ideas represented in action and conflict that are than captured, frozen and rendered in a stoic finality. This sculpture can be placed in both exterior and interior locations.
