A rare and spectacularly vivid pair of Paul Evans Studio dining table bases in the form of crescent moons. Signed and dated using his welded method of applying signature, circa 1969. These hand sculpted pieces are characteristic of Evans's sense of humor, his great skill with the welding torch and his outsized creative talent and inventiveness. His playful side is expressed in his use of the stars, stop and go lights, rainbows, setting suns and eyeballs that populate the surfaces of these bases. The glass top shown in the pictures is shown only for display purposes. These bases are not accompanied by a glass top.
