Fabulously abstract oil on canvas painting signed "Cathy Metz" and dated, 1972. This painting hung over the fireplace in Steve McQueen and Ali McGraw's living room in their famous Hugh Kaptur designed residence high above Palm Springs in the exclusive Southridge estate community (Next door to the famous "Diamonds Are Forever" John Lautner designed house). Presaging the important "Spiral" works of the hugely successful and important contemporary artist Phillip Taaffe, this vintage 1972 painting is light years ahead of its time. This painting retains its original frame and has light wear to the matting and frame.
