An extraordinary solid polished steel "Banker Style" coffee table custom made by Karl Springer for tennis legend, Bjorn Borg. Circa 1980. The design of the table was initially presented with only one, solid oval piece of glass but due to the large scale of this particular piece, Springer added two crossbars to prevent torquing and for ease in moving the glass pieces. The table has new glass insets which replace exactly the original smoked glass.The steel frame has been hand-polished and is in fantastic condition, with only minimal signs of wear. The table and the provenance has been authenticated by the former Director of Design at Karl Springer Ltd. and will be provided upon purchase.
