The Tavolo Con Ruote (table with wheels) was designed by Italian design legend Gae Aulenti for Fontana Arte in 1980. Taking inspiration from the Industrial trolley that was used to transport glass pieces in the factory, Aulenti replaced the wooden platform with a sheet of glass to create an iconic piece of Italian furniture. This table was purchased by the last owner in the 1990s and bears the etched Fontana Arte name along one of the edges (image 9).
Condition
Good. vintage condition showing slight scratches to glass surface commensurate with use and some wear to the metal portions of the wheels.
