George III Tea Caddy
An English George III period inlaid satinwood octagonal tea caddy. Circa 1800. The top and front surfaces of the box are decorated with fan motifs set into oval frameworks and the edges are cross banded with rosewood and inlaid ebony. The canted corners of the box are inlaid to resemble fluted columns with traces of green stain present. The tea caddy retains the original, or old, foiled interior along with the brass lock and internal lid finial, as well as the felt on the bottom.
