An oil on canvas composition entitled "Retour de Carnaval" by School of Paris artist, Simone Andreani. The artist is identified on the back along with the year 1960. The title of the piece translates into "after the carnival" which is consistent with imagery of the carnival masks, empty wine glass and pinwheel on the table. The colorful harlequin patterned curtains on either side of the French doors add an extra note of frivolity. The cityscape that is visible outside the window is Paris and the the dome of Sacre Coeur is visible in the distance. The painting has been newly reframed and has a linen liner and brass identification plaque.

Condition:  EXCELLENT, wear consistent with age and use
